About Trans and Non Binary Awareness: The Basics

We all want our venues to be as welcoming as possible, for everyone. Increased understanding of gender diversity within the workplace, and our current and future audiences, is a necessity. It is also fundamental to improving the lives of trans and non-binary people who attend, or work in our venues or may wish to in the future.

To support our network venue members with a broad, grounded introduction to trans and non-binary inclusion, house are offering an online training session run by Gendered Intelligence to:

  • Explain what ‘trans’ and ‘non-binary’ mean and describe the diversity of those who might use the terms
  • Introduce key concepts crucial to understanding trans and non-binary people
  • Outline the main legislation relating to trans identities
  • Explore ways an organisation can work towards being trans-inclusive
  • Provide links to further resources and help

An opportunity to ask questions will be threaded through the session to take your queries as they arise; enabling you to bring the focus of the session onto key issues that matter to you and any particular questions you may have.

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people.

Suitable for: This training is open to house network venue members working in any role; welcoming anyone who would like to improve their understanding of gender diversity within the workplace, and our current and future audiences.

Please note: As places are limited, we ask that you only book one place per venue and share learnings with your team.
