About Understanding & challenging racism, moving towards an anti-racism stance

Until the Lion tells his/her side of the story, tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter

Thurs 23 February 2023

11am -12.30pm

Inclusivity and relevance are included in Arts Council England’s Investment Principles:

“That England’s diversity is fully reflected in the organisations and individuals we support and in the culture they produce”.

The session will use creative mediums of other people’s words combined with Euton’s own experience alongside some initiatives happening in Oxford to make a case for a different approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) - One not of writing policies and employing EDI personnel but taking action.

A safe space will be created where experiences can be shared, questions asked and participants be open with each other to begin to start thinking about meaningful and impactful actions. Participants to the training will leave with the confidence to start conversations about EDI in their organisation and start taking steps which address your mission statement and the people you create work with and for.

This training is for professionals working at venues within the house southeast theatre network. It would be ideal for any venue who has programmed the house tour SOLD in Spring 2023 (which Euton is the director for) but is also open to other venues looking at EDI.

Venues may wish to send associate or attached artists as well but please indicate the venue in the comments section when registering.

If you have any additional needs, such as BSL interpretation, please get in touch with Meghan at meghan@housetheatre.org.uk as soon as possible.
