Trigger are an award-winning, female-led creative studio making extraordinary live experiences in unexpected places. Their touring show TEABREAK has been touring the UK festival network since 2023.
This summer Trigger worked with house to bring their much-loved show TEABREAK to new audiences and presenters in the South East. Whilst on tour they captured some of their highlights for this blog:
"Working in partnership with house enabled the TEABREAK team to do our first ever back-to-back tour, offering us an exciting on-the-road experience!
This is our fourth year of touring the show, and we have now presented it to over 37 locations and 7,800 audiences across the country. Following on from three festival dates this summer (Festival Oldham, SO Festival, and Southampton Mela), we hitched up our hand-painted tuk-tuk and headed to King's Lynn...
The Workshop, King's Lynn,
Tuesday 28th July
We kicked off our week of touring at the historic Kings Lynn in Norfolk, presenting TEABREAK at The Library in the town centre. This tour date was presented by The Workshop, a creative hub and arts charity dedicated to transforming people’s lives through art.

Wardown House, Museum & Gallery, Luton,
Wednesday 29th July
Our second performance location was the stunning Wardown Park in Luton. TEABREAK was programmed here as part of The Culture Trust Luton's Summer Fun Day, a free drop-in day of workshops, performances, and a chance to view their Celebrating Luton Carnival display.
Our performers Divija Melally and Kali Chandrasegaram were very happy to be performing bare foot under the trees!

Visit Staines, Staines-Upon-Thames
30th July
Our third stop on the tour was a short drive away in Staines-Upon-Thames. Here we popped-up at the Two Rivers Shopping Centre, as part of Visit Staines’ Outdoor Theatre Season 2026.
Our central location was a wonderful opportunity for passers-by to experience the show, with lots of wrap-around audiences and interest throughout the day.

The Alexander Centre & Creek Creative, Faversham, 31st July
Day four saw us head to Faversham in Kent, where we were being hosted by The Alexander Centre & Creek Creative, both local organisations that support local creativity in Faversham. We were lucky enough to be part of the Friday market and set up our show in Market Square. We were welcomed by really engaged audiences for both our shows, with lots of audience members chatting with the team and performers after and between shows.

Worthing Theatres, 1st August
Our final stop on the tour was Worthing, performing at the beautiful Pavilion Promenade on the seafront. In collaboration with Worthing Theatres, we set up on the promenade, and welcomed audiences
Across the five days, TEABREAK was enjoyed by over 1,000 audience members. Working with house gave Trigger a really important opportunity to bring this show to new locations and presenters.
TEABREAK was supported by Without Walls and commissioned by Timber Festival. The tuk tuk was originally developed as part of PoliNations Birmingham, commissioned by UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK."
