Make connections, explore solutions.

Last Wednesday we held our annual house Network Day at house’s home venue Farnham Maltings, with a focus on the power of our network.

The day ran in an Open Space format led by Katy Potter Executive Producer & Deputy CEO at Farnham Maltings. In her house southeast theatre network capacity, Katy develops house's strategy, working with the team to respond to the needs of our network and the sector to deliver impact effectively.

Together, a group of 40 of us, focused on the key question: How can we work together to build a strong, brave and vibrant theatre presence in the South East?

A huge thank you to all our network members who gave their time, energy, and insight you filled the room with a sense of openness, honesty and eagerness to harness our collective expertise and drive to meet the challenges of our sector with positivity and innovation together.

Through the key principles of the Open Space format, our participants generated several key areas for discussion, with headline topics including: Audiences; Communication and Trust; Balance; Advocacy, Impact and Identity and Finance Models and Future-Proofing. Each topic formed a group which took the discussion of that topic further with recommendations rising to the surface off the back of more detailed and solution originated conversation

But really, the best way for you to find out more about what went on in our Network Day is to dive into the summary notes, which you can download here.

If in reading these notes you feel like there is more to say, or you’d like to pick up on something to chat with the house team about, then we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a line at info@housetheatre.org.uk and we can arrange a call.
