The Nutshell is a small-scale vibrant, inclusive 90-seat venue situated in the heart of Winchester’s Creative Quarter, where we invite all members of our community to ignite their creativity through engaging in unique, joyous and life-affirming artistic opportunities. We offer an alternative high-quality experience delivered from one of Winchester’s most-loved, historic buildings.

We programme a mix of one-off events, exhibitions, workshops, masterclasses, productions and experiences with regular clubs and festivals. An alternative small-scale high-quality and diverse creative offer for preschool children, families, under-represented communities, emerging artists and companies, as well as those who like to share experiences with others, and value opportunities that are open to all.

The Nutshell sits proudly alongside Discarded Nut Youth Theatre and Discarded Nut Theatre Co. and is run by a Board of Trustees and the Executive duo Harriet Morris (Executive Director) and Noël Jones (Artistic Director).
