The Mowlem is in the heart of Swanage, has a 380-seat auditorium built in 1967, showing theatre, live music and film, a bar with outstanding views, offices and a newly refurbised community room and second performance space.

Primarily, we are a receiving house for professional theatre, we also partner with visiting companies including Planet Purbeck, Swanage Jazz Festival, Purbeck Film Festival, Purbeck Arts Week, Artsreach, amateur Companies and Schools.

We host NT Live, Into Film, well-known stand-up comedians, a summer of live music, event screenings, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and touring shows for children and adults.

We provide year-round entertainment and a safe and friendly place to gather for the 10,000 residents of Swanage as well as providing outstanding summer holiday entertainment for the many 1000’s of visitors to this seaside town. Our values are Collaboration, Quality, Inclusivity and Sustainability.
