Named after the original benefactors, The Courtauld Institute, the 270 seated capacity venue (350 standing) renamed The Institute (formerly The Bocking Arts Centre) was acquired in early 2024 by creative, hardworking and ambitious Trustees.

Appointed as programmers from the outset, we have widened the diary span from once weekly and exclusively community events to a wide range of professional music, theatre and and comedy based Acts.

The large proportion of the 80 shows in 2024 were sell out performances in addition to a successful pantomime. Despite the wide demographics of the area, theatre productions have not proved as popular as music and comedy acts although we continue to work with this genre to increase the database.
