About TEABREAK

Catch your breath and enjoy a free, freshly-made brew in this heartwarming show by Trigger.

Have a well-deserved TEABREAK, and as you stir your cup gently glide through an audio journey of tea and how it’s found itself into our pots. Tea leaves have journeyed across continents and centuries to take its place as the great comforter of our time.

With tea served from Trigger’s beautifully hand-painted tuk tuk, this gentle performance brings an uplifting moment of pause. Uniting people across the world and throughout our lives, inviting us to rest awhile, appreciate all that we have, honour moments that have passed, and ready ourselves for what’s to come.

The TEABREAK Tuk Tuk was originally presented as part of PoliNations and has been developed with support from Without Walls and Timber.

About Trigger

Based in North Somerset, Trigger are shapeshifting creatives who dream-up, create, and produce free, bold, and brave live events. Trigger reimagine and revive public spaces, interrupt daily life, and put audiences and togetherness at the heart of everything they do.

Led by Creative Director and artist Angie Bual, and Executive Director Natalie Adams, Trigger’s varied output is inclusive, accessible, and boundary-pushing. It’s always memorable, often large scale and outdoors. Their epic, imaginative work includes: PoliNations; a super-garden celebrating biodiversity and multiculturalism, The Hatchling; a ground-breaking puppetry and kite-flying experience, TEABREAK; a heartwarming outdoor touring show about the ritual of tea, and GROUND; an immersive theatre dining experience.

Trigger are an Arts Council England NPO for 2023-2026.

Attending TEABREAK had a really profound effect on us. At the time we were moved, but it has really stuck with us both. It's the benchmark to which we compare all other performances! I think about it regularly - the anecdotes, the calm, and the sense of community and connection.
