house offers professional development, resources and meet-ups for marketing colleagues in arts venues across the region, and those supporting theatre-makers and companies to promote their work, including the artists themselves.

We try to reach beyond our ambition to support venues to grow audiences for high-quality contemporary theatre in the region, by thinking holistically about all audiences and communities.

In many arts organisations, the marketing department is a team of one, so there’s huge value in the opportunity to connect with other marketers who have shared experience and geography, to trade ideas and suggestions, create profitable links, and pool resources.

Throughout May & June, house will be organising a series of venue cluster meetings to offer venue programmers & marketeers the chance to come together, share ideas on audience development plans and see whether there is a chance for greater collaborative working with nearby venues.

house Audience Development project

house are now looking at ways to support venues across our network in producing new Audience Development plans following the pandemic. As our audiences continue to grow with their confidence it is important to think strategically about what steps you want to take to improve the diversity and inclusivity of your audiences. Starting in Autumn 2022 we will work with a group of 10+ venues on a project which will support them in setting their goals, analysing the effectiveness of their campaign and what legacy that work will have on the organisation.
