What is the Leadership Coaching Opportunity?
We are offering six leaders, ready to prioritise themselves and dedicate three hours across three months, the opportunity to work with coach and former arts leader George Perrin, MBE.
As a cohort of six leaders you will work collectively as a coaching group to focus on forward-facing problem solving; meeting together online for an hour, followed by 10 minutes of one-on-one time with George each month.
The coaching group will be a safe space where members can table challenges and work together to explore solutions, before committing to actions to discuss in future sessions.
Please note that places for the Coaching Leadership pilot have now all been filled.
If you would like to be added to a waiting list, please email Harriet at info@housetheatre.org.uk
Who is it for and can I apply?
This opportunity is for venues with capacities of 300 or less, or those who do not have internal HR provision and is suitable for those in a senior leadership role, including Artistic Directors, Executives, CEO’s, COO’s or Business Development Executives.
Investment
The programme will be subsidised by house as part of our venue support activity. Where possible, we are kindly asking for a total contribution of £65 towards the cost.
Why is house piloting Coaching Leadership?
Since 2018 over 200 performing-arts company leaders have stepped down*. It’s important we ask ourselves not only where our sector would be without good leaders, but how can we better support and retain the leaders we have currently?
In a leadership role, it is often easier to prioritise the wellbeing of our wider staff team over our own but we also know we need to challenge this mindset.
Which dates to I need to commit to?
There are three online group coaching sessions. You will need to attend the full hour on all three of these dates:
- Friday 11th October 11.30 to 12.30
- Friday 8th November 10.00 - 11.00
- Friday 6th December 10.00 - 11.00
Plus three online one-to-one coaching sessions. You will need to commit to a ten-minute, one to one slot in each of the following time-bands each month:
- Thursday 10th October 11.30 to 12.30
- Friday 8th November 11.30 - 12.30
- Friday 6th December 11.30 - 12.30
Attendance across all the dates listed above is mandatory for those joining the pilot.
Hello from George Perrin
I coach Creative Professionals to think big, fulfil potential, navigate change and lead together. The power to think creatively is transformative. And I don’t mean the ability to draw, write or design. I mean the capacity to imagine. To ask, ‘what if?’ To conceive of other possibilities. To dream up a future. To invent the kind of life you want to live. And then bring it into existence. That power - to think and act creatively - comes from within. I’m here to unleash it.
With over 20 years’ experience as a Director, Artistic Director and CEO - collaborating with Leaders, Producers, Managers, Writers, Creatives, Technicians and Actors in Rehearsal Rooms, Meeting Rooms and Board Rooms - I now Coach Cultural, Creative and Media Professionals to do their best work.
Recent clients have come to me from the Donmar Warehouse, Edinburgh International Festival, AKA, Fiery Angel, Neal Street Productions, Coventry Belgrade, Theatre by the Lake, English Touring Opera and New Adventures.
