A space for everyone.
We work with local talent and leading artists from across the UK to tell fresh and exciting stories all year round. Newly refurbished in 2019, the Hat Factory Arts Centre is back and presenting its most exciting programme yet, full to the brim with live music, contemporary dance, theatre, film, workshops and more! The Hat Factory Arts Centre offers something for everyone. A space to experience incredible performance, enjoy Luton’s thriving arts scene and allow your own creativity to flourish.
With a diverse programme of events throughout the year, we pride ourselves in presenting work that is fresh, relevant and surprising. We programme primarily on Thursday-Saturday and are committed to supporting local creatives and promoters as well as bringing leading national voices to Luton. As part of our creative ecosystem The Hat District, we ask that visiting artists share some of their expertise with emerging talent, be that through Question and Answer sessions, participatory workshops, or legacy work in the building. We believe in nurturing local talent and giving young artists a platform to tell their own story.
The Hat Factory Café is open Monday-Saturday from 11am, serving up delicious food and a vibrant atmosphere to socialise with friends. Our key performance space for theatre and dance is the Studio Theatre, a flexible space with a capacity from 30-106 that can also be used as a dance studio or film screening room. The Factory Floor is a 230 capacity gig space suitable for a range of music. We also have our Basement Bar, perfect for comedy, smaller gigs and club nights, and our flexible HATCH workshop spaces that can be used for messy work, presentations, or hatching a new creative idea.
Come on in.
